For this was a world in another dimension, as demonstrated by one who knew his way well.

A novel way of raising money to aid in rehabilitation work is being initiated by the Lang-ley Kinsmen Club. On June 17, they are sponsoring "An evening with James Wilkie, one of the world's leading psychic mediums."

Mr. Wilkie, who has been investigated by many of the great universities in North America and Great Britain, is heralded by authorities as being of the same calibre as Jeanne Dixon. Edgar Cayce and Arthur Ford.

Before proceeding with this endeavour, the Langley Kinsmen saw a practical demonstration of Mr. Wilkie's psychic abilities.

Although most of the Kinsmen and Kinettes had come to view Mr. Wilkie as sceptics, all reported their scepticism gone by the end of the demonstration. They are in agreement that Mr. Wilkie possesses amazing powers which are not explainable by present scientific knowledge.

Perhaps it is because he lives amongst us, (in Vancouver), that this famous personality receives so little publicity. Or perhaps it is due to his nature. For James Wilkie is a loving, kind and Christian gentleman. His gift, which he attributes directly to the power of God, is, he says, to serve mankind.

Although Wilkie has minimal formal education, he has lectured to the great and powerful, the learned and the famous. The diversity of his realm of associates range from Edgar D. Mitchell, the moon-walking astronaut, to Wheeler Beckett, conductor of the New York Philharmonic Orchestra.

But Wilkie's greatness is with ordinary people with everyday problems. For he is a master technician in the field of metaphysics. His expertise encompasses the related fields of clairvoyance, telepathy and precognition.

According to Wilkie, who draws his powers from a 4000-year-old Egyptian spirit guide named Rama, a person's life reading will reveal many of the problems encountered in daily living. A life reading is an examination of a person's previous lives and the working of karma in his re-incarnated being.

But to get back to the Langley Kinsmen. The meeting was held to determine if the Langley Kinsmen Club would sponsor a Wilkie night to raise money for rehabilitating the disabled. The Langley Kinsmen wanted to see what they were getting.

And James Wilkie gave it to them

For nearly an hour, Wilkie explained things which, for most, were unexpiainable . . . life after death, ghosts, cosmic consciousness, astral projection . . . and more. And then he answered questions. As he did so, it was obvious he could see into the lives of the questioners. He knew their troubles and anxieties. He could sense the type of work in which they were engaged. He knew the road they should take as it affected their welfare.

Those singled out were incredulous and fascinated. For this was a world in another dimension, as demonstrated by one who knew his way well. The Kinsmen invite you to meet Jimmy Wilkie at the Langley Civic Arena at 8 p.m., Friday, June 17th.

Jimmy Wilkie

Psychic Extraordinary

When the Langley Kinsmen held a Jimmy Wilkie evening on June 17th, they promised an evening the audience would never forget. This was far from an empty promise.

It must surely have been the hottest night of the year as the capacity crowd gathered in the Civic Arena, a pleasant enough building but hardly conducive to the kind of atmosphere demanded by most psychics.

As the audience shuffled restlessly on their hard back chairs, it was difficult to imagine how any one would hold their attention for more than a few minutes.

Jimmy Wilkie strode into the room, making no concessions to the excessive heat, resplendent in a formal green frock coat, looking for all the world like a subdued version of flamboyant pianist Liberace.

The stilted route of so many lecturers, who spend half their time consulting a raft of carefully prepared notes, was not for Jimmy, he addressed the gathering straight from his heart.

Jimmy Wilkie the man would probably shrink at the idea of publicly speaking to several hundred people, for Jimmy Wilkie, the Psychic, the knowledge of his very special visionary powers affords him all the confidence in the world.

His strong Scottish accent proved no obstacle as the shuffling stopped and the crowd listened spellbound as he recounted his introduction into the world of metaphysics.

As a small boy in Scotland, Jimmy's vision of a disjointed black hand was later to crystalize into the total form of his spiritual guide, an Egyptian named Rama. By the time the vision was complete, Jimmy was perfectly happy to accept the sight without fear or apprehension, supposing this was his guide's way of not scaring him half to death.

Extremely close to his devotely Christian mother, he kept her teachings in mind as he ventured further into the world of metaphysics, his father's strict opposition to the subject proving no deterrent to his interest.

One could have heard a pin drop as in his unaffected manner, interspliced with a dry Scottish wit, he went on to tell of his experiences nursing the incurably sick and the war-torn years when his faith sustained him and his visionary powers helped save the lives of his fellow shipmates.

If we thought we'd had our money's worth thus far, the best was yet to come. After a brief intermission, general questions were invited from the audience, with the promise of a more personal insight for the questioner where possible.

"When are your 'For Sale' signs going up," he asked the first questioner, who astounded-ly replied that they had gone up that afternoon!

The questions poured out. What were his views on reincarnation, suicide, abortion, the possibility of a nuclear war. With each answer came a seemingly effortless flow of information - Jimmy Wilkie's own sensible, down-to-earth philosophy on the subject, plus some thought-provoking advice or assurance for each questioner, gleaned from his remarkable intuitive knowledge of their problems, doubts and aspirations. Time after time, the questioner nodded in amazement as Wilkie proved his seemingly infallible insight, talking as if he had known the person all their life.

Two and a half hours later, the audience was still clamouring for more as Wilkie thanked us for the positive atmosphere and the terrific response he had telt. The staunchest sceptic would have been hard pressed to doubt the veracity of the demonstration we had just witnessed. It was a night this writer will never forget.

Thank you Jimmy Wilkie - Psychic extraordinaire!
